Quick Update

Quick Update

Thanks for the words everyone!  Just a short time, and we’ve got to know each other so well – all those little quirks.

There’s hope – I may have another blog underway, still on WordPress.  I’m working on it.

I apologise for all the drama – it’s been a total implosion on my side.  But that happens – as I’ve said, at least once a week.

I just needed to make a new start – refresh.

If you’re still interested, I’ll post more soon.

Thanks so much for reading, and being pals.

Now It’s Cash for Refrigerators

Now It’s Cash for Refrigerators

Yesterday marked the conclusion of the Administration’s Cash for Clunkers program; but as one rebate program winds down, another is preparing to begin. The new program will allocate $300 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for state-run rebate programs for consumer purchases of qualified home appliances.

This cash for refrigerators program – as many call it – will offer rebates from $50-$200 for purchases of high-efficiency household appliances which meet the Energy Star requirements established by the government in 1992.

The Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, said upon the program’s announcement:

Appliances consume a huge amount of our electricity, so there’s enormous potential to both save energy and save families money every month. These rebates will help families make the transition to more efficient appliances, making purchases that will directly stimulate the economy and create jobs.

Similar rebate programs already exist in over 25 states. The $300 million in federal funds, which come from the Stimulus Bill, will add money to the coffers of those programs, or will create entirely new programs in the other states.

This is an excellent program because upgrading our country’s old appliances will save energy, money (for both the utility and the consumer), and also improve the environment. Indeed, the latest refrigerators cost about one third the money, and use only one third the energy of outdated refrigerators (those made before 1993) according to Energy Star’s savings calculator.

The Department of Energy expects most of the funds to be awarded by the end of November. In order to successfully stimulate the American economy, it is paramount that consumers only receive rebates for appliances manufactured in America. In this way, American jobs will be preserved or created, and more money will remain in the hands of American consumers, companies, and governments.

This program is another example of Stimulus money being spent wisely and productively. At once the initiative will spur domestic production, increase employment, and make our economy leaner and greener. The Obama Administration should be commended for this initiative, which addresses multiple policy objectives in an integrated manner. More programs like this must be implemented in order to continue making positive steps towards revitalizing the American economy.

Obama’s moment on human rights

Obama’s moment on human rights

The US should make joining the UN Human Rights Council a priority

(Christian Science Monitor, December 10, 2008)

WashingtonAfter eight years of neglect, President-elect Barack Obama is eager to have the United States re-engage with the United Nations. A good way to begin would be to join the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

President Bush snubbed the preeminent international human rights policymaking body when it was established in 2006, with disastrous results. A speedy reversal by Mr. Obama would give hope to moderate governments that yearn for a stronger UN human rights program. It would also invigorate the entire UN system, generate goodwill, and encourage others to help with tough policy challenges like Guantanamo Bay.

There is no time to be lost.

Dec. 10 is the 60th anniversary of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but it will not be much of a celebration. The UN’s human rights program has been badly weakened by an ill-advised reform and by America’s absence from the Human Rights Council.

Until 2006, UN human rights policy was made by the Human Rights Commission, a body of 53 governments that included Sudan and Zimbabwe. Sudan’s membership, at the peak of the genocide in Darfur, caused outrage in Washington and prompted calls for reform. The commission was voted out of existence in 2005 and replaced by the council.

The problem is that no governments have clean hands when it comes to human rights, so basing election to the council on good behavior would have excluded most of the world’s powerful governments. That would not have been credible.

As a result, the new council was organized along the lines of the much-maligned commission, into five regions. The big difference was that Africa and Asia each received almost twice as many seats as the West in the horse-trading. This was a recipe for mischief, and the Bush administration made it worse by declining even to apply for membership.

In the three years since, hapless Western governments have been consistently outmaneuvered and outvoted on the council. They suffered a particularly serious reverse in March this year, when Islamic governments weakened a key UN inquiry into freedom of expression.

Even more damaging has been the steady erosion of independent “rapporteurs” who follow the record of individual governments. Their reports have long been the gold standard for international human rights monitoring, but such finger-pointing against individual governments could soon be a thing of the past.

The African bloc has insisted – successfully – that any country monitors be approved by the government under review, and the rapporteurs for Cuba, Belarus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Liberia have all been retired. This means, incredibly, that the UN has no formal process for monitoring human rights in eastern Congo, which is in the throes of a deadly conflict. Many predict that the days may be numbered even for the UN’s rapporteur on Sudan, which triggered the whole reform in the first place.

In place of these country inquiries, the council has established a process that is both bureaucratic and toothless. Known as the “Universal Periodic Review,” it requires that all UN member governments submit to a three-hour review by the council every four years. This puts zero pressure on violators.

All of this represents a sweeping retreat from the 1990s, when 15 governments were subject to critical public appraisal by the UN. Country-specific inquiries may have unfairly penalized weak governments. But in this age of genocide, the pendulum has surely swung too far in the wrong direction.

Can the trend be reversed? Yes, but it will require vision. This should not be difficult. All governments understand that global challenges such as climate change and recession will put immense pressure on the weak and require a strong human rights response from the UN.

Such a vision will need a strategy. The US should start by courting moderate governments that feel obliged to vote with their regions but could probably be persuaded to support a less politicized approach. Many have greeted Obama’s election with relief, but to take advantage of their goodwill, his team must propose a practical agenda instead of lamenting the council’s shortcomings. This should start with a commitment to abide by international standards of behavior. There can be no more preaching human rights and practicing torture.

Second, the US should call for an overhaul of the Universal Periodic Review. It desperately needs independent oversight.

Finally, Obama and his nominee for UN Ambassador, Susan Rice, should appoint a delegate with a proven commitment to human rights. Such an agenda would require an investment in diplomatic capital. But it would also produce a huge return – for the US and for human rights.

Iain Guest is an adjunct professor at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, where he teaches human rights. He also directs the Advocacy Project, an NGO in Washington that supports community-based human rights groups.

How The Virgin Became a Whore

How The Virgin Became a Whore

DEAD CHILDS HAND

Heart-breaking photo of a dead child’s bloody hand holding a tiny crucifix; victim of the terrible Beslan school tragedy of 2004 — the end result of pure Jewish greed* (more below).

INCOG MAN’S INTRODUCTION: Now, if you came here thinking I’m nothing but some evil White “hater” and “Conspiracy Theorist,” etc. etc., you had better think again. The kind of people exposed by a Jew below, are exactly like those now raping the US and sending off our children to kill and be killed for them. Isn’t it long past the time for you to still be going along with how these people tell you to think?

Uri Avnery tells us these seven Oligarchs plundered their way to power and how presidential candidates in the US are beholden to the same kinds of “cabals of billionaires.”

When you read the following article written by an Israeli Jew (my bracket notes in red), please make clear note of a few things: 1) The TV series he’s discussing could only be shown in Israel. What’s that tell you? 2) Six of the seven oligarchs were Jewish. 3) He states: “Berezovsky boasts that he caused the war in Chechnya.” This conflict resulted in the above tragedy in Beslan, committed by Muslim Chechen separatists trying to get some payback on Russians who had killed their own children. Read on.

In no way do I ever imply such acts to be  justifiable, however, there are hidden causes purposefully ignored by the US media simply because of the Jew’s involvement. Disgustingly, some Jew anti-Muslim propagandists now use the Beslan tragedy to illustrate how evil Muslims are, when it was money-grubbing Jews who started the whole conflict so as to gain access to oil! Much like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Peter Orszag

Peter Orszag

Another thing to keep in mind is that Peter Orszag (right), Obama’s Director of Management and Budget, was once an adviser to these evil Jew oligarchs during the period when they were busy raping Russia. Jew-manipulated Wikipedia goes to great lengths to avoid mentioning his Jewishness, describing him as merely ”Hungarian” in the discussion page and saying absolutely nothing about his time advising the oligarchs in Russia.

After this, Orszag went to work for fellow Jew Robert Rubin in the Clinton White house, when Rubin pushed to drop regulations of credit derivatives which resulted in the mortgage-backed securities mess behind today’s current economic woes. Another thing: Orszag then went to work as a consultant to the Central Bank of Iceland and it, too, went kaput last year.

Everywhere this rotten little Jew goes, big trouble is sure to follow.

The oligarchs: Or how the virgin became a whore

By Uri Avnery, (written in 2004)

BerezovskyKlebnikovBookFullSize

Paul Klebnikov, the author of this book, was assasinated by a hit squad in 2004.

This is a TV series about Russia. But it could have been about Israel. Or about the United States. It is entitled “The oligarchs” and is now being screened on Israeli television. [don't hold your breath for this to air on the History Channel]

Some of its episodes are simply unbelievable — or would have been, if they had not come straight from the horses’ mouths: the heroes of the story, who gleefully boast about their despicable exploits. The series was produced by Israeli immigrants from Russia.

The “oligarchs” are a tiny group of entrepreneurs who exploited the disintegration of the Soviet system to loot the treasures of the state and to amass plunder amounting to hundreds of billions of dollars. In order to safeguard the perpetuation of their business, they took control of the state. Six out of the seven are Jews. [I bet the 7th Goy was owned by the Jews]

In popular parlance they are called “oligarchs” — from the Greek word meaning “rule of the few.”

In the first years of post-Soviet Russian capitalism they were the bold and nimble ones who knew how to exploit the economic anarchy in order to acquire enormous possessions for a hundredth or a thousandth of their value: oil, natural gas, nickel and other minerals. They used every possible trick, including cheating, bribery and murder. Every one of them had a small private army. In the course of the series they are proud to tell in great detail how they did it. [Jews so love to brag to other Jews]

But the most intriguing part of the series recounts the way they took control of the political apparatus. After a period of fighting each other, they decided that it would be more profitable for them to cooperate in order to take over the state.

At the time, President Boris Yeltsin was in a steep decline. On the eve of the new elections for the presidency, his rating in public opinion polls stood at 4 per cent. He was an alcoholic with a severe heart disease, working about two hours a day. The state was, in practice, ruled by his bodyguard and his daughter; corruption was the order of the day.

The oligarchs decided to take power through him. They had almost unlimited funds, control of all TV channels and most of the other media. They put all these at the disposal of Yeltsin’s re-election campaign, denying his opponents even one minute of TV time and pouring huge sums of money into the effort. (The series omits an interesting detail: they secretly brought over the most outstanding American election experts and copywriters, who applied methods previously unknown in Russia.) [think about our media's behavior in the last election resulting in Obama]

The campaign bore fruit: Yeltsin was indeed re-elected. On the very same day he had another heart attack and spent the rest of his term in hospital. In practice, the oligarchs ruled Russia. One of them, Boris Berezovsky, wheedled his way to the upper echelons of power. There was a minor scandal when it became known that he (like most of the oligarchs) had acquired Israeli citizenship, but he gave up his Israeli passport and everything was in order again. [in America, they don't worry about this]

By the way, Berezovsky boasts that he caused the war in Chechnya, in which tens of thousands have been killed and a whole country devastated. He was interested in the mineral resources and a prospective pipelinethere. In order to achieve this he put an end to the peace agreement that gave the country some kind of independence. The oligarchs dismissed and destroyed Alexander Lebed, [killed in a controversial helicopter crash] the popular general who engineered the agreement, and the war has been going on since then. [look at how long we've been in Iraq and Afghanistan]

BESLAN MONTAGE

September 1, 2004: Chechen separatists (disputed by some) captured 1200 people at local school #1 in Ossetia, southern Russia. They spent 53 hours without food and water, crowded in the school’s gymnasium and the children witnessed beatings and shootings of parents and teachers. Then, one of the terrorist’s bombs went off accidentally (as per officials, but it may have been outside snipers that caused it), forcing Russian elite “FSB” troops to attempt a rescue. In the horrific bloodbath that followed, 344 civilians were killed, at least 172 were mere children.

In the end, there was a reaction: Vladimir Putin, the taciturn and tough ex-KGB operative, assumed power, took control of the media, put one of the oligarchs (Mikhail Khodorkovsky) in prison, caused the others to flee (Berezovsky is in England, Vladimir Gusinsky is in Israel, another, Mikhail Chernoy, is assumed to be hiding here). [this is why you see so many bad things about Putin in the Jewish US media]

Since all the exploits of the oligarchs occurred in public, there is a danger that the affair might cause an increase in anti-Semitism in Russia. Indeed, the anti-Semites argue that these doings confirm the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, a document fabricated by the Russian secret police a century ago, purporting to reveal a Jewish conspiracy to control the world. [not so fast Jew, no one has proved that — no matter what the Jews say]

Moving from Russia to America — the same thing happened, of course, in the US, but more than a hundred years ago. At the time, the great “robber barons”, Morgan, Rockefeller at al., all of them good Christians [Morgan was found to be in the employ of the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers are known crypto-Jews], used very similar methods to acquire capital and power on a massive scale. Today, it works in far more refined ways.

In the present election campaign, the candidates collect hundreds of millions of dollars. George W. Bush and John Kerry both brag about their talent for raising enormous sums of money. From whom? From pensioners? From the mythical “old lady in tennis shoes”? Of course not, but from the cabals of billionaires, the giant corporations and powerful lobbies (arms dealers, Jewish organizations [via AIPAC], doctors, lawyers and such). Many of them give money to both candidates — just to be on the safe side [this is the standard operating procedure of the Jew — play both ends of the stick].

All of these expect, of course, to receive a generous bonus when their candidate is elected. “There is no such thing as a free lunch,” as the right-wing economist Milton Friedman wrote. As in Russia, every dollar (or rouble) invested wisely in an election will yield a ten — or hundred-fold return [especially fo Wall Street and Israel, as we know].

The problem is rooted in the fact that presidential candidates (and all other candidates for political office) need ever increasing amounts of money. Elections are fought out mainly on TV and cost huge sums. It is not a coincidence that all the present candidates in the US are multimillionaires. The Bush family has amassed a fortune from the oil business (helped by its political connections, of course.) Kerry [part Jewish] is married to one of the richest women [Jewish] in America, who was once the wife of the ketchup king, Henry John Heinz. Dick Cheney was the chief of a huge corporation that has garnered contracts worth billions in Iraq. John Edwards, candidate for vice-president, has made a fortune as a trial lawyer.

Sharon and son, Omri.

Sharon and son, Omri.

From time to time there is talk in America about reforming election finances, but nothing worthwhile ever comes of it. None of the oligarchs has any interest in changing a system that enables them to buy the government of the United States.

In Israel, too, talk about “money and power” is now in vogue. Ariel Sharon [a murderous Zionist terrorist] and one of his two sons have been suspected of accepting bribes from a real estate magnate. An indictment was blocked by the new attorney-general who happened to be appointed by the Sharon government at the height of the affair. Another investigation into Sharon and his sons is still pending. [Omri agreed to a plea deal but has yet to serve any time, Sharon is a vegetable after a stroke] It concerns millions of dollars that reached his election coffers by roundabout routes, crossing three continents.

Madonna with Shimon Peres (2007).

Madonna with Shimon Peres (2007).

Shimon Peres’s connections with multimillionaires are well-known [even "just like a virgin" Madonna, right], as are the huge sums poured out by American Jewish multimillionaires for extreme right-wing causes in Israel. One of the Russian oligarchs is the part-owner of the second biggest Israeli newspaper.

A political scandal concerning the Israeli minister for infrastructure has mushroomed into an affair involving giant multinational corporations competing for contracts for supplying natural gas to the Israeli Electricity Company, an affair of billions in which underworld figures, politicians and private investigators play their parts. This disclosure has made it clear to Israelis that here, too, politicians of the highest rank have long ago been acting as mercenaries for powerful financial interests. [that's the deal, people]

These facts must alarm everybody who cares about democracy — in Israel, Russia, the United States and elsewhere. Oligarchy and democracy are incompatible. As a Russian commentator in the TV series said about the new Russian democracy: “They have turned a virgin into a whore.” [they've turned the US into a whore a long time ago]

INCOG MAN NOTES:

BerezovskyBorisHaggard

This evil little Jew lives free and clear on his ill-gotten gains in England today.

Boris Berezovsky later fled to London  and received Political Asylum. He’s been convicted in absentia for embezzlement in Russia and many other countries from Brazil to the Ukraine want him for criminal activities, such as money laundering and financing terrorists. In 2003, he changed his name to Platon Elenin, with Platon being the name of a character in the movie “Tycoon,” based on his life. He also partnered in business with Dubya’s younger brother, Neil Bush. Big surprise, eh?

In 2006, Alexander Litvinenko (an ex-pat Russian writer closely associated with Berezovsky) died from poisoning from the highly radioactive Polonium- 210. The Zionist-owned US media were quick to point their fingers at Putin (just like they did on the case of the Moscow reporter, Anna Politkovskaya, wacked in an elevator by a hitman). ABC told it’s viewers on 20/20 that only Russia and the US were capable of manufacturing Polonium — transparently alluding to Putin ordering the hit — when that was patently false: Israel can make Polonium, too. In fact, in the late 1950’s they had a major laboratory accident with the stuff, killing quite a few scientists. This has never been reported on in the US mainstream press (because any mention of the Israeli Bomb is off-limits by US media).

If you’ve read so far, I implore you to start speaking out about these evil people to all you know. The US is now in a real bad way and it’s going to take all of us to put a stop to them. If you blow it all off only simply because you think I’m a “Nazi” or “White supremacist,” then that’s exactly what these evil people want you to do. They want White America to turn a blind eye to what they do in the world and for us to foolishly blame anything or anyone else, just as long as we don’t breathe a word about the almighty Jew!

The problem has been right in front of our noses, all along. Take a stand to put a stop to these devious people!

— Phillip Marlowe

* Now, I realize that blaming Beslan on greedy Jews like Berezovsky may strike you as unfair, etc. but I assure you that if you stand back and seriously look at history over the last one hundred years or so, and study it in-depth — not just the simple way its always portrayed by the mainstream media — you’ll see a pattern of Jew machinations unbelievable in scope for what they want in the world (money, power, and especially anything to do with Israel), regardless of how much pain and suffering it brings. Regardless.

One big problem is that American Whites rarely know who’s Jewish or not. Russian Jew names (other countries, too) are invisible as compared to English Jewish names. Plus, Jews often purposefully change their names to Gentile-sounding ones. Figure it out!

RPO Acquisitions Improve Geo Reach, Economies of Scale and Overall Delivery Value

RPO Acquisitions Improve Geo Reach, Economies of Scale and Overall Delivery Value

My July 22 blog focused on partnerships between RPO providers to improve multi-geo and global RPO capabilities in order to serve the needs of buyers looking for recruiting support beyond domestic regions and to boost their own revenue growth.

And as we identified in our May 2009 Targeting Recruitment Process Outsourcing report, a growing number of providers in the RPO space are taking the acquisition route to gain the same benefits for themselves and their clients. In fact, 40 percent of all RPO providers have acquired another company, and 28 percent have completed an acquisition in the past two years.

The most recent example was yesterday’s announcement of The RightThing acquiring Capital H Group’s RPO division, based in Milwaukee, to expand its geographical reach in the upper mid-west region of the U.S. Others include Kenexa’s acquisition of Quorum International to strengthen its RPO capability in EMEA, Alexander Mann’s purchase of Capital Consulting to enhance its ability to serve the European and Asian markets, and Adecco’s acquisition of TalentTrack to strengthen its position in North America.

What benefits do acquisitions deliver to RPO providers and buyers?

•  RPO contracts often begin with the provision of services in one or two geographies. But if the relationship proves successful and the provider can service all the client’s geographies, the number of suppliers with which the client works can be reduced and the contracts can be expanded

•  The economies of scale gained by standardization of processes and technologies across geographies reduces expenses for providers and increases cost savings for buyers

•  In countries and regions outside the U.S., clients often want recruiters to be onsite for in-person requirements discussions with hiring managers, to meet candidates during interviews, and greet new hires on their first day and help with the on-boarding process

•  Even in the U.S. where provision of services is more service-center oriented, clients still want providers to be close by to accomplish similar objectives

While growing organically is important, acquisitions can help RPO providers meet revenue growth objectives and satisfy client needs. As a result, we expect further consolidation via acquisition in the RPO provider space. And this consolidation will not only be between big-name players but also with smaller providers that may be experiencing financial difficulties due to reduced hiring volumes and where most of their revenue is paid on a per hire basis.

SXSW Panel: When Every Book Is Connected

SXSW Panel: When Every Book Is Connected

My colleague, co-founder, and the chief architect and getter-doner at Book Oven, Stephanie Troeth has proposed a moderated panel at SXSW this year called:

Beyond Publishing: When Every Book is Connected to Everyone

We have an all-star line-up who have agreed to join us (if SXSW agrees to give us some space to talk):

The description of the panel is as follows:

What happens when every book is online, linkable, and connected to every writer and every reader? What happens when the book is liberated from being words on paper, unbound from a format that’s two thousand years old? What happens to how we read and how we write?

For more info, or to comment on or vote for the panel (please do!), see here.

Commerce Ministry to be split into industry and trade? Kamal Nath might not get trade ministry?

Commerce Ministry to be split into industry and trade? Kamal Nath might not get trade ministry?

Commerce, industry likely to part ways
26 May 2009, 0241 hrs IST, Amiti Sen, ET Bureau

NEW DELHI: The government is looking at splitting the commerce and industry ministry into two ministries with two full Cabinet ministers. The commerce ministry will deal primarily with all trade-related areas previously under the commerce department, and the responsibilities of the industry ministry will be much more than what was earlier held by the department of industrial policy and promotion, a government official has said.
In addition to the administration and monitoring of industrial growth and laying down of foreign direct investment guidelines, new sectors, such as heavy industry and micro, small & medium enterprises, will also come under the purview of the new industry ministry being considered.
“The government is seriously considering dividing the commerce and industry ministry into two. Names of the Cabinet ministers, who will head the two separate ministries, are likely to be announced on Tuesday,” an official, who did not wish to be named, said.
Former commerce and industry minister Kamal Nath is a likely candidate for the industry ministry, another official said on conditions of anonymity. The front-runners for the commerce ministry include Salman Khursheed and Kapil Sibal.
If Kamal Nath is not satisfied with the industry ministry, despite the added responsibilities, he could be given the human resources development ministry, the second official added.
Commerce, as an individual ministry, will continue to hold a lot of weight, as important areas, such as export-import policy, bilateral trade negotiations, the World Trade Organisation and the special economic zones (SEZs), will fall under its purview.
With senior politicians in the UPA scrambling for important portfolios, the split in the commerce and industry ministry can also be looked at as a move to accommodate more.

It is very hard to beat the MLM home based business. You get to work out of your home any hours you choose, wear what you want, and never have to commute to the office. You also have the opportunity to make a great income.

The MLM home based business has never been easier. With all the electronic tools, gadgetry, and the Internet, your work has been greatly reduced. Once your MLM business is up and running, you might only have to spend 3 to 5 hours a week working it. Thats it.

The most effective way to decide which MLM home based business is right for you is to do some research to find a product or service that you really like and then join a company that sells just that. There is no such thing as the best MLM program or the best MLM company. If you like and use the product or service, chances are others will too.

Use a system that can work using the internet to build your MLM home business. Decide up front how much time and money you want to spend and understand that your MLM home business is not a hobby.

Any skills you need you can learn while running your MLM home business based from the marketing plan. You don’t have to have any special skills to run a multi-level system but you must be a self-starter and be motivated.

The great thing about the MLM home based business is that it costs very little to get started and you can begin making a profit in months rather than in years. You get a proven system that is much like the franchise opportunity.

Are You Born To Be A Successful Entrepreneur?

Are You Born To Be A Successful Entrepreneur?
Your Ad Here

Hold the phone, before you are booking a flight to Maui you need to consider one thing very carefully and ask this question: Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Are you cut out to be fabulously wealthy?

In order to be positive you should see how you rate on the following five topics, Can you / will you:

-Press on when there is no gratification, results are slow to come? In the beginning the sheer rush of owning your own business will color the way you see and feel about everything. Adrenaline will pound through your veins for days or even a month.

You have pressed on and on and now you are at a wall. Your working hours look a whole lot like your last job and you are just trying to keep the business afloat. The rose colored glasses are gone and to add insult to injury you cant even see where you are making a difference. These are time when motivation is slim and you are just hoping to make it another day.

Answer me just one question: Will you keep at something even if pay off is delayed? If you can honestly answer in the affirmative then you may have what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

-Let a losing idea die? Look, when you spend precious time on an idea it will feel like a part of you and truthfully it is, this is your baby so to speak and it will be hard to turn lose of your brainchild.

No one is perfect and before you know it you can be neck deep in a bad concept that threatens the very life of your business. Is it in you to let go and move on to the next idea in spite of your emotional attachment to the plan? Do this part well and you are on your way to being a good entrepreneur.

-Believe in yourself and your capabilities? There will be those who doubt you, unbelievably some will be your own family. They may cajole you, laugh or even berate you for what you are doing. If they can get to you the chances of you succeeding just went from slim to none.

Are you self aware and sure of your talents and ideas? This is key to the entrepreneurial spirit.

-Have knowledge of the value of your products and service? A beginners biggest problem is knowing how to price their product or service. You will find them working hundreds of hours for peanuts. This occurs most frequently because of the value they put on the product or service they offer. If you tell yourself you would never pay x amount of dollars for something you are bound to price it too low to stay in business.

Remember you are not the target market, you are not the consumer. Since you are providing a needed service or product that is highly valued by consumers you should naturally be paid accordingly. Rest assured if you charge too much the customer will be quick to inform you.

Until that happens you should place a good value on the product or service you are offering. When you value what you are, offering you will be a good entrepreneur.

-Fix a Dilemma? This is the most important characteristic of all, are you the one to solve a problem?

Entreprenuers must be problem solvers, there is simply no one else to solve them. This is your business, your baby if you will and the buck stops with you. All the corporate big dogs are gone and you are the boss!

The biggest reason of all to be a problem solver however is for your customers. If you can find the thing that people are struggling with and then provide a solution you are well on your way to being a good entrepreneur.

CCHIT maps out path to certification with meaningful use focus

CCHIT maps out path to certification with meaningful use focus

Diana Manos, Senior Editor

The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology is expected to release more details on its “modular” certification on Sept. 24, and it is also tentatively planning training sessions in Chicago on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1, to orient vendors and developers to new programs, including updated application processes, certification criteria and test scripts.

The modular approach to certification would tell providers that a healthcare IT product is capable of performing to provide meaningful use, a requirement under the federal stimulus law under which providers could receive bonus payments beginning in 2011.

The certification would be provided in advance of the definition of meaningful use, which is expected out by the end of the year.

Federal officials have said providers would have to make “a business decision” as to whether to go forward in faith with the modular certification ahead of the final rulemaking.

The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology held a “town call” Web conference Thursday to gather input from the vendor and developer communities on the commission’s planned new paths to certification for electronic health record technologies.

CCHIT Chairman Mark Leavitt, MD, said the goal is to achieve more rapid, widespread adoption and meaningful use under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

“We are concerned that providers could not achieve meaningful EHR use in 2011 if they wait until spring 2010 – the expected date of (the Department of Health and Human Services’)’ final approval of requirements – to begin adopting this technology,” said Leavitt, “CCHIT has analyzed the recommendations of the federal HIT advisory committees and is preparing to offer new paths to certification beginning this October.”

Besides updating and enhancing its certification program for comprehensive EHRs in ambulatory, inpatient and emergency department settings, the commission plans to launch a more limited, modular inspection program for EHR technology, focusing solely on compliance with ARRA-required standards.

In an Aug. 14 meeting, the federal government’s Health IT Policy Committee adopted additional recommendations on meaningful use and proposed expansion of EHR certification to include 10 to 12 certification panels in addition to the existing Certification Commission for Health Information Technology. Physicians, activists, vendors and others warned the committee at a meeting that it was moving too fast.
